Got my cruise control issue solved!!

There is a ground going to that intermittent control module right? Any chance that could be bad? I guess lighting could strike your Dakota, but I find it hard to believe that you had 3 sets of parts which were all bad and gave you the same exact symptoms.

Why am I having a hard time finding this connector under the dash. I just don't see it and you have the same truck. Was it hidden under something? I would really like to gain my cruise back. Driving across the state without cruise control stinks and my right foot don't like it.

Umm... this was a very specific problem with my truck. When I did the manual transmisison swap on it I lost the cruise control because the P/N saftey switch was removed and to compensate for it being gone, I grounded the wire to make the computer think it was in park/neutral perminently. Well the computer won't allow use of cruise control in park or neutral, so I had to come up with another way to make it work.

But this solution will not fix whatever is wrong with your cruise control unless you did a manual transmission swap.

Oh ok. I lost my cruise a while back and checked everything under the hood and thats all good.

Been trying to figure out what else it could be. Checked the fuse and its fine. I'm wondering if its the switches. I got so far and it decided to rain.

Do you know if the steering wheel has a wiring coupler to allow movement of the steering without wires turning?

Yes check the switch. The manual has a very simple continuity test you can do.
Also did you check your vacuum lines?
