Hey fellas; same problem here; it started, immediatly died and won't restart. it has high miles and probly about time for the pump to go out. my question is, can the pump just suddenly go out like that with no prior warning? i'm real tempted to order one tomorrow.....so i can find some electrical problem the day the new pump arrives thanks

Can't resist posting the most definitive solution I have found to this question.
IF your fuel pump has recently died, a whack (or two) on the tank with something like a 2x4 is likely to make it run for a short while. The problem always appears suddenly (This is your warning) and is often intermittent, occurring with increasing frequency.
Very similar symptoms can be caused by "The Splice", relay problems in the Power Distribution Center or connector failure at the PCM . The absence of a signal from the distributor pick up can also be the cause.
None of these, however, will be temporarily cleared up by a whack on the tank, this is just about dead certain to be the pump.

Hey fellas; i've changed out my cam sensor and crankcase sensor on my 94 dakota and still turns over but won't start...no spark on the plug i checked and no fuel pressure...i first changed the fuel pump and i worked on a separate wire i ran. i'm about to go throw down for a new computer...i didn't find any relay sensors bad and no bad wires leading to that.....should i get the computer? could it all be in the ignition switch? i'm stranded...thanks
