Default Bad A/C coil... HELP!

I need a field coil for my A/C compressor and I can't get one from Dodge. Anybody got one for a reasonable price, or a source for one? I'd rather buy from someone on the forum than from a salvage yard in Podunk, Whereverthehell off Ebay.

Thanks!

Thanks! Unfortunately, $292 is more than I was looking to spend. I could get a complete reman on Ebay for $250 or so. I was just hoping someone might have a parts truck with a coil they'd be willing to part with.

Although, now that I look at that again, I think that's the evaporator coil in the diagram. I mean the field coil on front of the compressor which locks the pulley to the shaft to start the compessor compressing.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

That would be called the A/C clutch coil then. Or ideally the entire clutch assembly.

If you do go to the boneyards, take a 12V battery (I take a "Jump Start" kit with me) and use that to test the coil. Then I'd get the entire clutch assembly.

Good idea!

The clutch coil is also called the field coil, since it generates a magnetic field to lock the pulley and shaft, but I could have been clearer, as I said.
