Welcome aboard Thomas. When you say jump shifting, do you mean shifting from 3rd to OD or is it going back to 2nd gear. How many miles on your Dak? Good luck with finding the problem.

When I say jump shot fting I mean like it is in fourth gear and it starts to shift to into fifth gears and then it suddenly shifts back to fourth until I pick up enough speed and it has almost 300 thousand miles on it right now

It's your torque converter. Your trans is a 4 speed and the torque converter is probably going bad. I had a similar issue with my old truck. It would pick up speed fine but once in overdrive I had no power unless I smashed on the gas or tapped the brakes then give it gas.
