Default Tire size

Hi Guys

I have a 94 Dakota Sport. I notice on the sticker on the door frame it says the tires on the truck is 195/75/15's. But I was looking at the tires on the truck now and there are 215/75/15's. Would the 215 hurt my gas mileage? I didn't think it would. I get bad gas mileage in the truck. It is a 2 wheel drive with a V6. Hope to hear back from you guys.
Thank you

well first of these trucks weren't great on fuel to begin with I believeits EPA rating .... average of 17/18MPG combined .. the v6 no better then the v8 and the 4x4 no worst then the 2wd ...

Idoubt such a small increase in tire size will hurt fuel to point it notice, infact under highway it should help if any speed might be off aswell showing 1-2 miles slower or so @ 60m/h

if your getting horrible miles then I would look at plenum gasket as its a known issue
O2 sensors, tune up many causes can cause poor fuel, even a bad catalytic or no cat..

I have put in new plugs. At idle I can hear the stuff in the catalytic converter raddling around. I would love to put 30x9.5x15's on it. My dad told me it didn't get around in snow very good. I will do more checking on the things you said.

Thank you

plenum gasket can be checked 2 way.. condition of laugs... back passenger cylinders usually darker.. oil covered.. also you can look down the throttlebody but opening it wide open(engine off or damage will occur) and see if you see oil pooling inside on the bottom of intake use flashlight makes it easier .

235/75/15 is common size tire for these trucks and is cheap since its common size ..
I had originally goodyear wrangler territories, and honestly I was 4x4 but didn't need it much cept getting out of driveway(was uphill slope to roadway and short/steep)
