Default 1994 Dakota Speed Sensor replacement

I can't get the speed sensor on my V8 1994 Dakota to quit leaking at the tranny. I replaced the O-Ring with no luck so I'm going to try replacing the whole part. I looked on RockAuto and there are two different types; a screw in sensor and another that looks like half of the speed sensor. The screw in one doesn't look like mine but I was thinking maybe it could be an updated part?

Don, I think the part you're looking for is the speedometer drive housing. Rock auto probably doesn't carry the housing. You can see it on the Mopar Parts Overstock website, here:

Looks like the part no. is 52069315.

Yep, that's the piece. Says it's for a 97 to 06 though. The tranny was replaced, but it came out of a 1992. Wonder how all that happened.

Probably because it's not transmission specific, but body specific.

BTW - pay attention to it as you bolt it back in. It's got four ways it can go, and you match it to the # of teeth on the speedo drive gear.
