Default Oxygen sensor location

Where exactly is the O2 sensor located? Can I get to it from the top,or do I have to get underneath? 94 Dakota 4x4,SLT with automatic transmission.

Which motor do you have?

In any case - for most of them, below is where you go to get to them.

Crawl under and look at the converter. Dakota's never came from the factory with a 5.7L engine. Was it swapped?

Only has a pre-cat sensor, unless they changed something. Located almost on top of the y-pipe pointing a bit towards the right side frame rail. Yes you have to be under the truck. It's a bitch to get to and like most O2 sensors on older cars, it's probably pretty well seized. GOod luck.

Also you have the 5.9L not the 5.7 unless it's been swapped.
