Default Upgrade to intermittent wipers

I would like to upgrade my truck to have intermittent wipers.

I've done some searching but I can't find any specifics on my model.
Can I just add a switch and relay or does my truck have to come factory with it?
I need the intermittent switch for sure, but I don't know what else I need.
Thanks for the help!

Switch and controller; RockAuto lists the same motor for both applications.

The FSM has the wiring differences in section 8W-53 . I'd peruse that.

You will probably need the wiring harness also, since the MFS is different between the two applications.

I attached a PDF of that section of the FSM.

WOW! Thanks for the info, this may be a bigger project than i'm willing to deal with. Sounds like I would need to see if a controller is available, then upgrade the switch and hope wiring is in place Probably not though.

For the wiring and the controller, there's always boneyards.

I'd not trust a used MFS, though. They fail too often.

Wait... You have to manually engage your wipers?

No, It just has slow or fast, there is no variable setting. which is fine. It doesn't rain here too much.

Default Fixed!

Replaced stripped wiper transmission with new bushings. Replaced switch to one with delay, which is cheaper than non delay..., anazon had the switch for 30. Now the wipers work. Delay even works with nothing else changed just the switch. Must have been wired factory. It is the SLT....
Now i just need good wiper arms.
The new ones dont spline well.

Update on the relay. It works for a bit in delay mode but then it just goes full-on fast mode. So I do need the proper relay to make them fully work with a delay. I just use slow or fast and it works fine. I'm in California so I don't use them so much anyway.
