fuel pressure is held within the lines by a check valve built into the fuel pump but yeah sounds like a couple of issues at once.

I changed to the 96 ram injectors, and I am still losing pressure at the rail. I really don't have money to throw parts at this so I am reluctant to get a regulator.

volaredon, the 92-93 fuel system has a check valve on the pump? Is it likely to lose pressure there? Do you know how I can test it?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm stuck now, and I really need this truck to be running.

Then go to a junkyard and see if you can get a pickup coil off one of those motors. You really need to deal with the code 27. I think your fuel pressure issue may be a red herring. You won't know until it runs and you can put a gauge on the rail while it idles. It would sputter and try to start a bit if it was the fuel pressure dropping off from an initial 36 psi preventing it from running.

onemore94dak, thank you for your suggestion. I looked at the rock auto link. I had no idea it is the same part # for the v6 and the v8 pick up. I have an extra one from the 3.9. I'll give that a try.

Ok. running issue is resolved. Onemoredak94 thank you so much for your suggestion. I went to put the pick up from the v6 on and when I pulled the rotor off I saw it was broken. Its crazy because I just did a tune up last week. I would have never caught the rotor if i didn't check the pick up. who knows... maybe I needed a new pick up too. Thank you soooo much for the help!

Now... does anyone know if the egr delete is a good idea? bad idea? I just want some pros and cons. Also do I need to worry about running the mopar pcm with the trans codes? Any help here is appreciated.

Do you drive a lot of highway driving? Or are you racing?

EGR is only on, when it's running right, when the engine is up to speed and cruising. At that point, it valves some unburnt exhaust back in and helps you run a bit leaner, so it gets better gas mileage. To run without it on the street is rather not bright, IMO.

OTOH, if all you do is race, plug that sucker.

So... I drove it this weekend. I am still getting the 27 code. I did use the other pick up I had. I suspect I am still losing fuel pressure, but something came up and I dont have the money in my account to make the deposit for the guage.
Any Ideas on a test I can do to eliminate the possibilities?
