Default project 96 needs lift

im starting a project 96 dakota 4x4 ext... its got the 318 and a 3 inch body lift with some slightly bigger tires. the tranny went out and now im getting a new truck but i want to turn this dakota into somewhat of an off roader...i was wondering how i could get some supsension lift or any lift other than the body that i already have...now i realize that i could call up a major manufactuar but im lookin for somthin a little cheaper...im willing to put time, hard work, and of course a little $ into it...any ideas would be greatly apreciated..... o and if anyone has any ideas of where i could find a transmission (automatic) that would work in my dakota i would like to hear it

find a trans shop like a local that people recomend to do good work ( local beter then big when building stong trans imo) and have them rebuild yours with a strong shift kit and you should be set

we had a durango and it had 4 trans from dodge then we had a kit installed and it never gave any trouble
my dakota trans went out and had it rebuilt with kit now it will bark tire shirting to second
