I have a short some where in the dash of my 1992 Dodge Dakota and when the fan switch is on it makes the brake idot light come on. Also when I try to run the air conditioner, it works great until I shut off the truck then the fuse blows. I am in need of a wiring diagram for the dash area.
Thanks,
Marlene

RE: Wiring diagram
Oh boy, I don't think this will be much fun to try and find.
Pretty much the only places it appears those electrical lines share a "closeness" together is at the bulkhead disconnect (which is a big conecter [50-wire] in the engine compartment, driver side), and on the right-side fender area (around the PCM back to the firewall).
Unfortunantly, I don't have a way of copying my wiring diagrams up to here (no scanner).
As for the fuse blowing with AC running and turning the car off, I would have no idea. Perhaps its related?
Hope this kinda helps. Shorts of this nature are never easy to find, since they could be just about anywhere.
If you need some more info, post back. I've gotta go run out and do some things, but, I'll be back in an hour or two.

I don't suppose you could help me locate a Diagram for the internal Fuse Box under the sterring column, could you?? Been looking for that for quite some time....hayes manual has nothing, and I can't seem to find any original Owners manuals anywhere...(granted, I hve not looked online, I really don't want to buy a book for a simple diagram)

RE: Wiring diagram
Like the following? *Note: This is coming from my 1996 Dakota. Things may be differant depending on your year, but for the most part, the wiring should be the same*

Yea... fancy little pictures... it's the best I can do since I don't have a digital copy of my manual.
Should you need other diagrams, just PM me your email address and the diagrams you need (so we don't clog DF's network).

My gas gauge in my Dakota does not work and I was told that I could fix it by finding the blown fuse, but I do not have the diagram that specifies which fuse would control the gas gauge. If someone could help me that would be great. Thank you,
Jeremiah
