Default 60,000 mile service

I have a 2000 SLT 5.9L that I've recently purchased. The car has 65k but I can't find the documentation that the 60k was done. The 60k includes:

1) Change Oil
2) Replace engine Oil filter
3) Replace engine air cleaner filter
4) Replace ignition cables
5) Inspect PCV valve and replace as necessary
6) Replace spark plugs
7) Inspect auto tension drive belt and replace as necessary

So, my questions are....

1) Are there any recommendations as to replacing any of these items w/ "better" parts (for filters, plugs, cables, etc) than what the dealer would replace with?
2) Where does the Oil filter go (sshh...don't tell anyone...but I rarely change my own oil...since..we'll it's so cheap of a services )

Thanks!

I would go with synthetic 10w30 and as for the oil filter it is on the passenger side pretty high up behind the tire.

The law:

Don't forget about your cooling system. Being a 2000 model, it should be equipped with the green stuff which should be replaced every 3 years or 36k. If investigation reveals that it has never been flushed, you should do that and at the same time consider upgrading to a better coolant that lasts longer. I just did this for my 01 at its 60k, and went with Prestone Global G05 amber coolant that is good until the cows come home (or till you decide to change it) I am going to run it for 50 k or so, and keep an eye on it.

Alsoif yours is a 4x4, transfer case and both front and rear axles should get new gear fluid. DC ATF+4 in the T case, and Mobil 1 or Royal Purple in the axles.

Good call on the coolant flush. Will do.

Also, looks like there's a very small leak coming from what appears to be the transmission (gulp) as there are a couple of spots on the garage floor. I swipe of the finger showed, indeed, a little bit of buildup. That is something beyond me to tackle so...in the shop she goes. Hope all is well with that since we need the thing for a trip tomorrow...yikes!
