1999 Durango - 260,000kms too much?
hi all
I'm considering my first D since arriving in canada 1 week ago. Just love the look on the big fella !
As we're starting out we don't have much to spend that's why we're looking at these older vehicles. I've spotted 2 Ds in my local paper 1998 and 1999 with 232,000 and 260,000 kms on then repectively. New MVIs etc. and assured by current owners they are in tip-top condition. But is this too many kilos for a reliable D?
I'm not looking to do any towing, off roading etc. it's just that access to our house is via a dirt track that would test anything but a 4x4, especially during winter. I'm not expecting it to last a lifetime - perhaps 12 months or so - I just don't want to buy a vehicle that's going to be at the garage all the time.
Your thoughts would be appreciated

RE: 1999 Durango - 260,000kms too much?
I havea 99 SLT+ 5.2 (318) with 194,000 Kms on it. I"ve had it since 2001 and the main issues I've had is the trans went out at 185,000 andsome other minor things. I feel that my D is going to run for a long time. I have no plans to get rid of it in the near future. Good maintenance is crucial. It does suck the fuel, but I feel that having it is better than saving a lil bit on gas. I'm in the states so I had to use a Mile to Km converter, but they run the same. Hope that helps.
