Default Exhaust Manifolds are SHOT - HEADERS?

So my passenger side exhaust manifold is rusted out where the down pipe connects. I have read allot of people saying that not much if any performance will be recognized by installing headers on a 4.7.
My guess is that MOPAR manifolds are more than headers. I can't see myself going to the hassle of pulling these and not going to a header instead of buying a bone yard manifold.
With that said a few questions:

JBA, Hedman, Gibson, or FlowTech? Not planning on building this motor.

What are SMOG headers?

Cat converters - i see many Y pipes going to one converter - seems counter intuitive?

From what i have learned, unless you are pushing mad horsepower out of that engine headers will do nothing for you except look pretty (for awhile anyways)...
