Default 99 Durango blower motor replacement

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for changing a blower motor on a 99 Durango? It's just a plain-jane model, no rear heat or AC. My boys are all starting to think I'm crazy for carrying a hammer in the front to keep the blower going! Actually it's just a rubber mallet, husband thought that would be safer!! Thanks for any help!!!

Yep. Unfortunately, you take out the dash. So... once the dash is out, make sure you replace the AC Evap coil AND the heater core because you do not want to have to ever take the dash out more than once.

If you do this yourself, it's a 2-3 day job. Pick a long weekend and label and bag all the parts and screws as you remove them.

I'd strongly consider paying a repair shop.

You might be able to replace just the blower by pullin it out under the passenger side of the dash. But if you do this then you'll have to recrimp some wires behind the fan instead of going all the way back to the quick disconnect plug. You might just need to clean it out becuase it still kinda works... humm

Thanks for the info. I know somewhereI ran across some good details for doing this job. Wish I could remember where it was that I saw it! I know it sounded like a good job for a small limber person, maybe with nothing better to do?!! Thanks again! J
