First I've heard of the recall but I wouldn't be surprised based on how many of the damn things kapoot. Considering how many of us are unaware and buying these ourselves, could you elaborate on the recall or give a site where it's listed? Also, do you know of anyone that has been successful getting the dealer to cover this after warranty?

True.......We need to have that recall number?

Cabindwellr<------Have you tried your VIN# to see if there are any recalls waiting to be completed on your rig?

Damn! This was done back in January, 08 by the previous owner on my 2001 Durango 4.7L (Same Issue with a bad TCCM)..
Thanks to http://www.autopartsearch.com/ ,I found it for $60 delivered from Illinois. They give a 90 day warranty but hopefully it will last a lot longer than that..

By the way.. Can the old TCCM be rebuilt by chance?? One of the parts stores said he thought it could but I wasn't sure (being a computer module and all)..

You have to look under electrical, then electric control units. The next page gives the option to choose the transfer case. There must have been at least 2 or 3 dozen places listed. I found mine at Nicks in Neenah Wisconsin....
Thanks for the step by step location. I got lost at first and then found it..
You're right! Lots of places listing the TCCM's but only a few offer a shipping option..
I found mine in Rockford, Illinois

is there a difference between transmission control module and a transfercase control module?
and how do you know if your cars covered for these recalls?
