Just fix mine with the help of this site. I did not disconnect the negative battery cable. It was a little difficult, but I got the connectors out hooked the used one in that I had shipped from a salvage yard. It worked perfectly.
This site has been a great help!!! Over the last two weeks I fixed a P0442 error (small evap leak) by cutting 1 inch of hose from 3 hoses going into the evap canister, I fixed my heated seat, I fixed the TCCM, and the biggest of all, I replaced the a/c evap, heater core, and blower motor. I am now relieved and cool with my a/c. Thanks everyone for this site.

I have a 2003 Dodge Durango 4x4 same issue. The 4x4 service light is on. and the 4x4 switch panel does not light up nor does it switch from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive.
I just ordered a 2003 Dodge Durango Transfer Case Computer from http://www.woodfins.com for $115 delivered.I hope this fixes my problem.
I sure would like to use my 4x4. =)

2002 durango problems
I have a 2002 Durango that will not shift into 4 wheel drive. But the lights on my switch are still working. It just blinks for a few seconds on 4wd but then switches back to 2wd beacuse it is not shifting into 4wd. Could the problem still be the TCCM? Most of the other posts about this problem states the lights no longer work on the switch when the TCCM goes bad.
Any help is much appreciated.
