Default My trany issue

Well first I had a problem with it slipping between 1st and 2nd when trany was cold, fine after a mile or two when it heated up. So I changed fluid and filter also adjusted the bands hoping it wold help but made no difference.

Then I was driving down the road at 75 and it kicked out of overdrive and would not shift back to 4th anymore after that, but did not slip at all between 1st and 2nd any more.

I was thinking it was a solenoid and drove it a few days with overdrive off until i could get to changing them to see.

I was at a friends house and went to leave. Put it in reverse and heard a kinda loud clunk and had no reverse at all. It also makes a grinding noise in reverse only, but goes great forward from 1st though 3rd and still does not go into 4th.

Any ideas. Im thinking of giving up and just buying a rebuilt trany.

+4 on tranny rebuild.... Be positive you take it to a reputable shop that knows these trannys well... MANY claim they do but they really have no ideal and just throw it together.

+5 on tranny rebuild/replacement. I went thru the same symptoms, then lost reverse gear. lots of cool stuff on the bottom of my tranny pan! haha. Now I got a rock solid fastman tranny.

If that trans is good, $950 is a GREAT price.

If the trans is serviced properly, it is good for 200K+ miles.
