Getting a problem the past week now. I am getting a random high idle, anywhere from 1,000 RPM to 2,000 RPM... Normal idle is around 700. Happens mostly when coming to a stop and I have to mash the brakes a little harder than normal. When I stop the idle is around 1,200 and when I put it into neutral or park, it will shoot up to 2,000 and stay there.... I tried to pull the throttle back and tap it but it stays there... Happens maybe 15 seconds each time. Would the idle control valve cause it to go this high? Also, where is the MAP sensor located?
Oh yeah, TPS is new and there are no vacuum leaks...

Also check the Vac lines under the hood. I hear propane is a good method.

If you put your info in the Your Profile or in your signature Edit Signature that includes your vehical year and engine size it really helps us in giving you the right info. If you look at my posts I have my info on my rig in both the top right and also in my signature.
Your throttle cable could be sticky, or the throttle body plate could be sticky. Vacuum wouldn't go that high in my opinion. IAC could need cleaned. TPS out.

Your edited post was within minutes of my reply. Must not have been in there when I originally read it. I could have missed it. Nothing stated about Propane.
Dunno. You'll figure it out. Good luck.
