Default sludge problem fixed, now p0725 and p0733

After cleaning out the sludge, i have codes p0725 and p0733. Is 725 the crank sensor? P0725 Engine Speed input Circuit Malfunction. Where is the cps on the 4.7? And can this be the reason why i am getting the p0733 Band 3 ratio discrepency? i couldnt see it anywhere around the pulley. The driveability problem is that it wont shift out of 1st in D. In 2, it shifts from 1st to 2nd (normal). If you are in 2 in 2nd gear and you shift into D, it will shift back into 1st and remain there. So, I am taking it that the trans doesnt know the engine speed, thus not shifting properly.thanks again

looks like the cps was the problem - THE DAMN CPS BROKE OFF IN THE ENGINE! The plastic was real brittle and broke as soon as i started taking it out. Any suggestions on how to extract the cps sensor tip from the side of the block?

Needle nose pliers and a magnet to pull it up to get a hold of it?
