Default Radiator cap

2474S - Mr. Gasket ThermoCap Radiator Caps

This is a follow up to the Moroso Aluminum filler neck that I ordered earlier this summer, and hopefully it will work out as well. This is basically a replacement radiator cap that has a thermostat included. This could be an excellent supplement to the factory temp gauge. It came in yesterday so hopefully I whould have a follow up in a few days. Although it says it comes in blue and red, for some reason the 20 PSI version only comes in silver.

A little background history of this. I saw this in AutoZone a couple of years ago, and was intrigued but at the time there was not a 20 PSI version. Well like a good little trooper I waited and found it in the Jeg's Catalog.

I will let engine cool this afternoon and install. I will give a follow up after a few days of operation.

My Jegs neck is REAL hard to get the stocker cap on and off. Was yours?

Let me know if this one does better. Thanks!

Seen those many moons ago but they were not as sick as those.

"My Jegs neck is REAL hard to get the stocker cap on and off. Was yours?"

As a matter of fact yes it was. I gave up for the day and will try again today after it cools but the cap was stuck on the lip..I tried to bend back the tab on the lip but as of now so luck. I dont want to bed it back too much because if the cap doesnt go on I want to be able to return it. I also thought of removing the Jegs filler neck, installing the cap on the neck then reinstalling the filler neck to the hoses. Does that sound reasonable?

No because you will need to get it off if needed on the road someday. Taking off the neck is not practical.

So your issues now are with the NEW cap then?

Basically yes. I will try to hold up the neck from the bottom and press it on, I just need to slide the cap down a bit further.
