check gages light
I just signed up for this site but I dont have a clue where to ask my question at so im going to try here. I have a 2000 durango 4x4. just recently while i am driving the check gages light comes on and the battery jumps to 18 (8 on one side 14 in middle and 18 on the right)it usually is on 14. and it stays on for 2 mins usually but yesterday it stayed on for 10 mins until i shut the suv off. then the radio cut completly out 4 times during a 30 minute trip. can anyone tell me whats wrong with it before i take it to a mechanic ? thank you in advance

Yes everything is factory we didn't change anything . We just bought it from a used lot last week . I plan on taking it next week but I just want a second opinion before they try to screw me over,they tend to do that to females, do you think its the alternator ?thanks again
