Lightbulb Asking for Clarification on Speed Sensors

OK, inquiring on the P0720 code, I have read it is outside the tranny on the right side, but then there is also a sensor on the rear differential, so what is the difference. I replaced the rear one, still showing check engine, ABS and brake lights. What is the rear sensor for -vs- the sensor on the tranny?

Is it really that easy to replace the tranny location sensor as the rear one was easy. BTW I own a '98 V8 5.9L...

I would appreciate any input on this subject.

Thank you!

the one on the rear differential controls the speedometer at low vehicle speeds and decides when to enable the rear wheel ABS

the sensor on the transmission controls the speedo after you get above a certain speed(i believe 20 or 25) and give the computer a signal to tell it that the truck is moving even if the rear wheels arent turning so they work together, and it is best to just replace them together.

yes changing it is as easy as unscrewing it and screwing the new one in.

A P0720 code is a transmission output sensor code. Replace the sensor.

It is located on the drivers side mid way. Buy the replacement from the dealer. When you take it out a little fluid will come out so be ready for it.
