Default Shackle lift.

2001 Dodge Durango 5.9 4x4
If I do a shackle lift it says I will have to remove my trailer hitch to do it, will it have to stay off for ever or can I put it back on? Also what kind of shackles do I need? And do I need bigger shocks?

You can put the hitch back on autozone sells the shackle and your shocks will work

here we go again! You can take the hitch off and reuse the bolts or you can leave the hitch on and cut the heads off the bolts and by new ones. Some will filght that you must take the hitch off but if you cut the bolts and put back in the other way you dont need to.

I would not recommend cutting anything off, if you cut the heads off the bolts and you find they are seized up then you may have extreme difficulty getting things to come apart. Mine were seized up so badly inside the leaf spring bushing that i had to both twist at the head and hit from the end of the bolt to get it out. After I figured out the technique then it was all cake. But yes you can reinstall your hitch.
