I will problaby purchase the jeep fan new. I think if you buy it new, it should not be one of those defectives model that were recalled a while back. Hate to go to a pick and pull and end up with a fan that is one of the recalled ones. My fan sounds like it is starting to have issues (possibly bearings) so I will replace it with a GC jeep fan as the fan and wiring harness will bolt up directly to my existing oem efan system.

I need to find out what the cost is from Hughes to send me a new program for my SCT tuner to change the fan temp on/off as it is coming on way too early (150 degrees). I don't have enough serious mods to have the fan come on that early to keep the engine cool. My engine is running too cold as it is with the fan running early. Rarely reach 180 degrees without a/c which I am guessing it may hurt my mpg.

Ideal temp on/off range maybe 185 on / 175 off

If it is single speed I'd personally go with the flex a lite variable speed controller since you wouldn't need high speed all the time, but you may as well use the factory controls since you have 'em, I wasn't that lucky.

I'd think it would be best to have the fan shut off above the thermostat temp. If I remember correctly I have mine set up so low speed on is 185 and off is 182. The low switches to high at 190 and reverts back to low at 185.

Is there a way to test which wire at the ac compressor is positive without the truck running?

One should be a constant ground. I'd suggest getting the a/c trigger from the relay in the PDC instead of splicing into the compressor wiring.

This is what I used for ignition switch. What i did was pulled the radio fuse then turned on the key. Tested continuity and this turned on and off as the key cycled.

Looks like the controller will not fire up. Ill call the company tomorrow.. Tested continuity between ground, positive, I then ran a wire from pin 9 to positive and held it there for like a minute. Should have came on after 6 seconds but nothing.

So support at flex a lite looked at the pics and noticed i had the ground on the controller hooked up to the alternator input, (black at the PDC) . I will test this when I get home.

I think I see your problem too. Both of those terminals at the PDC are positive. You need to put one to ground.
