Default 2001 Durango AC clutch not engaging

Now that it's summer I went to turn on my AC and the clutch won't engage. I checked the 1 10amp fuse in the pannel and it was OK. I don't hear the relay clicking to engage the clutch. What can I check?

There is a pressure switch. It won't engage if the freon (or whatever they use these days) is low. You could probably pull the pressure switch lead and short it out to see if it engages, to know if thats the problem.

I had thought the compressor had to run in order to put in freon. I tried putting in a can and after I did that the compressor started working.
Thanks
