Default 01 durango. getting horrible mpg around 6mpg

hello everyone. hopefully someone can help me I've had this one for about 2 years never got the mileage it should but just dealt with it since it was no codes. but now its too bad to ignore it have copper plug, air filter, crank sensor cam sensor upsteam 02 my model only has 2 one before and one after the cat. ive ran injector cleaner before the recent new 02 sensor. its idles normal drives normal starts fine. im lost as to why i'm getting such bad mpg its has 265-75-16s im thinking.. but even with those tires everyones getting 11 to 17 mpg city my odometer is pretty right on. I had the cat tested its not clogged. my clutch fan seems loud but think its normal with these and it runs normal temp. i have not checked my compression yet

Are you checking the mileage with the trip at each fill up? Or are you looking at the digital one above the mirror? Cause the digital one is not accurate. Mine says I'm getting 10mpg. When I check it with trip I average 13 to 15 depending on how I drive.

the clutch fan is ok to be loud first thing when you start it, but it should quiet down rather quickly, 1/4-1 miles depending on the age of the clutch

Hello,

Hopefully this may help.

I replaced cap, rotors, plugs, wires, IAC sensor and had terrible mileage.

I later learned the electronics must be reset after any changes to bang, suck, blow.

Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal, then put the key in the ignition and turn to the crank position for 5-10 seconds.

This clears the capacitors and allows the engine to "relearn" how to manage all the new parts.

This made a major difference in power, shifting and mileage for me.

Best,

Heekma

BAD 02 sensors
Computer is compensating as best it can in order to not throw code, but the fuel mileage will drop like a brick
