P0456? Evaporative leak?
Hello, new here and of course I have a code question...
I have an engine light on and a code of P0456 which indicates a evaporative leak...
What is this and what would be a good fix for it?
I was wondering if I can get somewhere a pdf copy of the Field Service Manual if Dodge makes one? I have one for my 02 Wrangler, but I wasn't sure if Dodge did this...
Since they're both owned by Chrysler I figured they would, but what do I know?
Thanks!

RE: P0456? Evaporative leak?
evaporative leak faults (DTC P0442 - SMALL LEAK, P0455 - LARGE LEAK, and P0456 - VERY SMALL LEAK) should have the supply vacuum lines examined for pinches or kinks prior to any LDP component replacement.
The supply vacuum lines should be checked from the engine compartment all the way to the fuel tank, including the LDP and purge system.
NOTE: VERIFY ALL RELATED SUPPLY VACUUM LINE ROUTINGS FOR PINCHES, KINKS, OR DISCONNECTION'S BEFORE REPLACING LDP SYSTEM COMPONENTS.

You could take it to a repair shop that has a fog/smoke machine that is made for finding leaks in the evap system.
But if you want to try the service manual, the dodge website has a link to them:
http://www.dodge.com/owners/index.html ... which leads to: https://techauthority.gltghosting.co...atalogId=10051

RE: P0456? Evaporative leak?
I had a similiar problem. It was a pinhole leak in the LDP vent valve's diaphram. It set off the codes for several weeks. Eventually, it started to whistle, making it easier to locate. Obviously, the leak began small but became larger and wasn't visible to visual inspection.
