Default STEERING PROBLEMS

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. In my 98 D my steering wheel has some up and down play (sitting still not running). I also noticed that the lower steering control arm (closest to the steering box) has some play also. I can grab it and wiggle it up and down. When I begin driving I can feel every little bump through my steering wheel + a added clunking vibration which I'm thinking is the steering control arm vibrating when hitting bumps. Steering is pretty tight but I do get a lot of drift at all speeds. I put new "Reflexes" all the way around which helped a little but still exists.

So, here are my possible troubleshooting ideas:

1. Loose bolts in steering linkage in dash
2. Suspension components tie rods ect. (not shocks, they are brand new)
3. Lower steering control arm needs replacing
4. Steering box issue

I guess for starters is your steering control arm loose at all like mine? What are your thoughts?

Default RE: STEERING PROBLEMS

Lower and Intermediate steering colume shafts. Have those checked. With everything else you have fixed, that is it. Tell tale sign = popping sound while turning at low speeds (like backing out of a parking space).
