RE: 2001-2003 Front A/C blower problems
Along the same topic, my blower fan in my 00 operates at all speeds, butmuch slower than normal. At the lowest setting the air coming from the vents is there, but just barely. At the highest speed, the air comes out at what I would call medium. The air is coming out of the proper vents, in other words, not being mixed with other vents making it appear that the air volume is reduced. I did not see this previously discussed (other than the blower not working at all at various speeds - mine does, but slow) and I apologize if it was. I am leaning toward blower fan bearings going bad as opposed to a resistor problem. I would appreciate if anyone has an opinion/experience. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Mean Green.
I agree that the high is not very high, I noticed that in my 99 and my 00. But over the last 6-9 months or so the air volume dropped significantly. I figured for the price I could change the resistor and see if that is the problem (not much $$ lost if it is not), but I do not want to pull the dash for the blower if I do not have to. I am just not sure if there could be another problem (other than blower or resistor) that I am not thinking of...

Has anyone replaced more than one of these in a couple of months? I think I had one go on my 02 while under warranty a couple years ago. That one lasted until Dec 06. I replaced it, the replacement went in about two weeks, got another and the parts guy told me at the time that it could be my blower motor causing the problem. After three weeks, my third one went. WhenItook out the last one, some water was dripping from it. Strange?
Could it be my blower motor that's causing this?

I have not had this problem with my '00, but there was a post in another thread relating to drainage issues.

Wow, this worked great. I had called a local repair shop and the fellow explained that this happens all
the time. He stated that sometimes the wiring harness goes also and the fix would be around $400.00.
I figured I better check this out myself, found this place and rest rest is history.....total cost $11.99 w/tax
and about an hour of my time.

One other thing I thought you guys might find useful. The wire harness somehow was getting water on it which travelled down the wire and into the plug on the resistor pack and it caused the wires to corrode. Eventually the one wire actually rusted enough for it to separate from the harness plug. So FYI you can buy the harness end with about 1ft. of wire. It comes in a kit for about $25CDN. Simply cut off the old harness, I had to cut it cause mine was corroded so badly I couldn't pull it off the resistor pack, attached thenew wires to the old and voila! Works Mint!!!!!! Hopefully this will stop my frequent resistor pack failure.
