Default P1491 Code Question

I have a 4.7L 2001 4WD Durango SLT and it is showing a P1491 code. From the link in this forum it appears I have a problem in the Radiator fan relay circuit which is either open or shorted. How do I correct this without taking it to a dealer? Is there a replacement module I can buy and install to correct this problem? Thanks.....

Just as you implied, it may be a simple relay to swap out. My guess the location of this relay maybe under the hood near the fuseblock area. You can check with your local automotive parts store to get some pricing on a replacement elecrical fan relay switch.

Default RE: P1491 Code Question

I checked out the fuze for the fan relay and the relay and both are in working order. The suspect now is the fan. Is the fan supposed to run while the AC is on? It does not run with the AC on and since the fuze and relay are ok most likely my fan is suspect. Thanks for the feedback
