Code P0344 is an intermitant signal loss, have you inspected the wires?

is the cam gear correct if the cam tone ring is the wrong one it will not read correctly and will not start i installed a 2002 2.7 into a 2000 intrepid then had to change the cam and flywheel due to different tone ring signals.
