hello fellows, im got a question about how many hp of nos i can use on my neon, the car have 11.1:1 c/r, and 215 internal psi, i oversized the block 0.020 and i got the head worked, so i wanna know how many horse power i can use on it, i saw a stock neon using 150hp dry nos, but i just wanna make a test so what u think about it! thanks"

nos with neons isnt a good idea unless you want to rebuild the engine after each time you use it lol...my friend had a neon with a 200 shot of nos and he had alot of work done to his internals and externals and he still blew the engine apart lol..

play it safe and stick w/ a 35-50 shot. if you feel the motor can handle more, then you change out the nozzle real quick and up to the next level. A small amount of NOS is actually good for a motor. Lowers combustion temps and adds power...but it changes fast from good to bad. in some cases, goin from 50 to 80 would change a helping amount to a motor blowing amount. start out small. test and tune.

n20 done right is a very safe power adder... but once you get past the 35-50hp shot range you start getting to the point were you need just a simple starter kit... thats when your talking you need the bottle warmer and a proper n20 controler not to mention more fuel and some way to kick back the timing by the time you add all that plus some things i'm sure i've forgot... your looking at probably 1500-2k in parts at least which is really getting up there in cost... then by the time you figure in the cost of getting the bottled filled a few times you damn near to the cost of a basic turbo kit for a neon.... i dunno i think throw a kit on it throw about 50hp shot in her and call it good i've seen neons run 50 shots all day long at the track with no adverse effects... to be on the safe side you might want to consider throwing in a set of plugs a stage colder then stock... it also would help to kick the timing back a degree or 2 but the only way you can do that in a neon is with an aftermarket pcm.. or possibly some type of ignition control box... like msd, mallory, etc...
