So got the head resurfaced as well as new head bolts. I reused the head gasket(only two months old) which had minor wear only on 1 out of 4 gaskets(inner cylinder). Sprayed 6 coats of gasket maker on HG on both sides.
Had court in another town so couldn't wait for a new HG, but either way it was a good gasket.
Are there any other possible ways for oil to be getting burned up and set through the exhaust?
All VC gaskets and such are in fine shape but I don't see how oil can get into the cylinders any other way.... Is it possible its getting in through the block somewhere? I rebuilt the engine because it had a chipped piston in #4(was honed). I saw no damage from it when the block was taken apart....
Could the head be internally damaged leaking it in at the valves?

Thats what I figured, thought I blocked it and drove but I'll try again. There was oil in the intake mani(dripped out when turned over) when I was installing the head back on.
How easy is it for the valve stem seals to go bad?? Would I get a bad compressions reading with them bad?
Ok I did a compression, and found all cylinders to be between 153-160psi with no drop in pressure.
If I took of certain things, lets say starting with the head and took off the VC, and the valve stems or something where bad would the pressure drop or not be as high, because I'm allowing air out of the head which in turn is connected through to the cylinders??
With the mention of valve stem seals I think I'll replace them. How hard will this be, and will I need any special tools? I'm also hoping this can be done with the head still on, just pop the VC off?

you gonna want to take the intake and exhaust off too...get something to hold the valves up, like some needle nose w/ a rubber band holding them shut. You gonna need a valve spring compressor, there are two kinds, get the smaller kind...the bigger one requires the head to be off to use.

Esh....Can someone find me a proper one? The haynes has one that looks like a claw puller.
Theres a shop that will do it for 80, but I don't want to spend that much on it when it might not fix the problem.
Also, my #1 spark plug tube(Idk what its called lol) where the SP and wires go into, is a bit loose from side to side. I can move it with the extension when putting the SP in. It wasn't always like this I accidentally hit it when doing the VC seals, can I just tap it back down or something?
