Default Coil pack question...

Hey guys, I need to know if the ignition coil from a 1st gen will work in a 2nd gen. I ask because I have a 99 & an 05, and the 05 is having some problems which I think are due to a bad coil pack(dying at idle in wet/cold weather). I want to just swap the coil out & see if the problem stops, but I don't wanna spend the $$$ if the two coils are interchangeable. Anyone know?

Electrically they should be the same but I believe that some years had different connectors.

try swapping up, and take a look if the crank position sensor is on the back where the exhaust manifold is!, cuz if no the car do not start, if dont start, change the coil pack signal, i mean where the signal goes to 1-4 cylinder it gonna change by 3-2 cylinder, just swapping the wires!
