I had my engine in pieces to replace the rings on my 95 Neon. On reassembly I checked in a Haynes manual for the torque setting of the camshaft cap nuts (DOHC). The manual says 18 ft-lbs, although this doesn't sound very much, when I was tightening to this spec. I felt that the thread was on the point of stripping or snapping the studs.
Does anybody have any figures to contradict this torque setting?

 

i coulda swore the torque rating for those cam cap bolts was in inch/lbs?? been a while since i checked.. ill have to go diggin around when i get some time and make sure for ya.
