I had a 1988 d 100 and in Jan 2015 ran over some ice and went into a ditch. About 30 mins later a kid in a f250 ran over the ice and went into my truck and my truck was totaled. I want to get another Dodge truck. Mine was a 3.9 with a manual. I want a long bed with a 318 and like the 86 to 90 bc the grill looks better IMHO. So my ? is when was the 318 stopped being a carb and was it a throttle body and then FI? Also when did the bolt pattern change and will a 2wd wheel fit a 4 wd bc i have some wheels. Also is the mpg much of a diff between a auto and a manual bc i work about 20 to 25 mins one way? Also i want a 4wd and a auto i dont like the way the gear stick is located. thanks

They changed to throttle body injection in 88. Multi port injection started in 92 along with the magnum motor. See bolt patterns in link. Fuel usage depends on the trans and if you have overdrive or not. Overdrive in the automatics first started in 89 as an option.
