Default Removed the trim

Here`s what my work looks like so far. I know the cheap red primer looks stupid, but it will prevent rust for now.

I am planing on removing the trim on my truck as my next project. What did you use to remove the glue gunk underneath it and was it bare metal underneath as well or paint?

There is no glue on these trucks. The trim is held on with plastic clips that clip onto steel studs that have to be cut off or ground down. There is paint behind it, but there was also 20 years of dirt and mud that doesn`t want to come off. On the ends of the door strips and the piece on the corner of the cab, the trim is bolted on. Once the bolts are out I just pried the rest off. The piece behind the front wheel has one bolt in it, and you have to remove the marker light in front of the wheen to take that strip off. When I had the trim off, I used a cheap rotary tool with a cut off wheel to cut the studs close to the body, then switched to a stone and ground them smooth. It works pretty well.

It was the whole trim pieces. The chrome with the plastic strip down the middle. The only thing I don`t have is the chrome piece that goes inside the right wheel opening. The tree totaled that one. But I have all the rest of it. I can send you some pictures if you want. Just send me a PM.
