Wow geat thread to bad it is dead..I just bought an 82 d150 that is air bagged. it had 22s on the rear and the 93 dak spindles up front but the guy also put the dak hubs and wheels on the front so you can imagine how goofy it looks. I ordered new 82 hubs and it sounds like I will need to machine the spindles or find diff bearings. I have 20s for the front and need the smaller bolt pattern. I will take any imput on the machining or bearing thing. Thanks todd

I don't know but I have heard of guys heating the spring to make it lose hardness and it collapses on itself. I would try cutting with a portable band saw or sawzall before using heat as I think the strength is necessary.

I had come across an article about using lower control arms from an '80s full size van for a 2" (I think) drop with no other modifications. I'll have to track it down again, can't remember where it was.

Another issue I'm having is to try to find some rims that go with, all the rims on stores like discount tire have those huge hubcaps and I'm confused about the bolt patern is it 5x5.5 or 5x4.5 would any wheels on the right bolt pattern fit or it still need to combine? please if someone what size would be the right one) and where I can get cool rims with tires that would go with a lowered(not a lot) I would appreciate very much.. thanks
