Does it stall if idling in neutral and you hit the brake?
In drive?
Moving or stopped?

Check for a vacuum in the brake booster hose, fitting and booster itself or any other vacuum line.

Since you have a charcoal canister I have to ask if you have an EGR valve as this is a classic symptom of its malfunction.

oh yea. car slows down, engine slows down, EGR still dumping in exhaust, engine chokes out. pretty simple, never woulda thought of it
