1980 Dodge w150 questions

First of all, that's a sexy truck. A little rough around the edges, but 4X4 short-beds of that vintage are just plain cool. Carb talk: Although many (including myself) would say that the eddy 500cfm is technically too much carb for that engine, it can be tuned to run pretty darn well. That's the route I would go, being as they are relatively cheap and you have a good shot at finding a parts store that will have metering rods and jets for them on hand. As for wiring, I probably have a diagram saved around here somewhere, that will help sort out all that mess the PO left you. Ill try to find it and post it up. Also- Are you in North Dakota?

i got a 390cfm holley on my 318 and it performs just as good as the 670cfm holley did except it seems to get me a lot better gas mileage when it was working properly. been having a few issue which are probably related to me not rebuilding it yet. i did only pick it up for $50 and just tossed it on. another $45 for a rebuild kit and i pretty much have a $400 carb for $100.

Okay, I'll look for a 390-450 one.
Been haveing a few issues. The speedo is sticking. It's at random places but a lot at 45 mph. I have to tap on the glass to get it to move. What are some of the more common fixes for this. And the tcase won't stay in 4hi. When I let off the throttle it will pop out into neutral. What could that be?

if it was the cable it should not cause the speedometer to stick at on place or another. a bad speedo cable might more so cause the speedo to be a bit boucy and kind of bounce up and down speed wise even when you know your truck is doing a constant speed. now if you want to you could try replacing it since it should not be too expensive of a part.
as far as the speedo not matching the gps that could be a couple of things. could have the wrong speedo gear in the transfer for your gear/tire combo.

Where can I find what transmission I have? I know it's a 4 speed manual. Or 3 speed with od. First gear is super low and a granny gear. Only gets to about 10mph before I have to shift. I think reverse is going out. No matter what I do it shakes the whole truck when trying to back it up. Kinda feels like several teeth are missing. And it catches every other one or so if that makes sense. Also, has anyone done a how to on a np208 rebuild? It won't stay in 4 hi
