Yeah, I will see about some pictures and videos. It idles fantastic and tarts right up every time. I am pretty confident it was used as a farm truck. I am the third owner. The previous bought it in 1989 and drove it back from Georgia. (I live in St Louis) All the lights were out. In fact I was driving it home and got pulled over for no lights. I showed the cop that I just bought it and he let me go.
And since it was most likely a farm truck it explains the brakes being totally neglected. However, it has basically no rust. It is dented here and there and the interior is shot but it is solid enough to be something to work with.
So why did I buy it? It was cheap and unique...and that is about it. I was told not to bother hauling anything with it as it has no power. And they were right! Its pedal to the floor all the time.

Hahaha. That sounds fun, at least for a while. Somebody's got to have turned the fuel delivery up, maybe to cover up a hard-start issue, or low compression, or just to have fun and blow smoke.

Wow thanks a lot for that! Does the manual tell you how to work on other diesel related thing? Particularly the injection pump?
100 hp....oh brother. My 2000 Jetta produces 90. I need something with real power.
Got all the lights working. Seemed to be just bad grounds. Tightened them down and all is good...yet very dim.
None of the gauges work inside. That is something more dodge related that I am sure I could fix with info from this site. Also you can control the idle from inside the vehicle. There is a little **** you turn. I guess for cold temps. I didn't figure it out at first and it was idling super high. Shifting into drive cause a massive jerk. Well I lowered the idle and all is well. Crazy how this thing just works. Everything unnecessary can be broken and it still fires up.

It doesn't tell you much else in that section. This book was actually written as the engine was just on the verge of being released. There is a little bit of general info on the injection pump. Its a bosch, made by nippondenso. From my experience with diesels, you can generally turn the pump much like a distributor to adjust the timing. Changing the amount of fuel may be more complicated. I can't even find out if there is an external adjustment.
