Default Looks like it may be water pump time

I drove about 50 miles from my little ranch yesterday to take some of our goats to do a petting zoo for some city kids. When I stopped to top off, I notices a little puddle forming under my truck. It was coolant, and coming from the bottom of the water pump. I think! So I will inspect it this week or weekend but I may have to do the pump. Oddly, it didn't loose enough coolant to do any overheating and honestly, it only let out about a quarter cup of it at most because when I got home, I only had to add a tine bit in the reservoir. This was the first time I ran the heater since I bought the truck......

Could be the weep hole.

You might pull the timing cover and timing set while you're at it. No better time to do so.

The truck only has 120K original on it. Is this necessary?

Yep. The stock chain has plastic coated links. The plastic flakes off and creates slack in the chain allowing the timing to develop a bit of slop.

it not just that. you could possibly have a leaking timing chain cover gasket. it could happen with age. plus timing chain is a bit older. minus well replace it while you are in there. plus i have heard some people seem to claim they gain a bit of power after they replace it.

Shoot, if I get three more HP I'm gonna do it! It's pretty cheap anyway I would think.
