Default '92 W250 died on highway

92 W250 360 gas w/automatic transmission

Ok, the truck dies while on the highway. Felt pretty lucky to be able to cost to the shoulder. There was no prior warning, no other issues leading up to this.

Got it to the shop and checked for spark and had none. I have got no fuel pulsing at the TB.

Its been a while and can't remember if I bypassed the ASD but one way or the other I could hear the fuel pump to work.

Basically I am debating if I have a computer problem or some issue with the ASD. Planning on heading out here in a few to try and see if I can figure anything out.

If anyone can point in a direction to check that would be great.

Thanks,
Steve

Dig through the fusible links on the drivers' fender for starters.

My wiring manuals don't go back that far. I would advise an Alldata subscription or something.

Ok here is what I checked out. I can get the ASD relay to click if I put 12V to it off the battery. But, I do show 12V at the plug for the relay but it will not click when I plug it in. Also I can jump the ASD plug and get the fuel pump to run.

When I try to turn the truck over it cranks but I am still getting no spark.

Is there something in the distributor that can cause this whole mess? I feel like I am missing something easy.

Note: I am not even getting the few seconds of run time out of the fuel pump when the key is first turned on.

Could be the crankshaft position sensor (CPS). I just recently had that go bad on my 92.

Check power the the coil. If you get no power to the coil then could be a number of things. I had power to mine but then dropped off.

I would suggest trying a new cap and rotor and if that doesn't work try replacing the distributor always seems to be the problem on my 89

My 89 did the exact same thing. It turned out to be the computer. O'Reilly auto parts has them, and auto zone can get them also.

Pickup in the distributor?
Have you checked for codes.
Clicking key on and off 3 times then count the check engine light flashes.
If I remember right it should flash 12 and 55 if normal.
