in ga i dont need emissions for anything over 25 years old i got this truck running i have a 72 intake without egr i dont understand some of the emmisions
1 i have a dual pickup dist why is it have 2 pickups i have a single one out of a 76 360 what do i need to change for the d to work
2 i want to get rid of smog pump cap off the lines on the exhaust manifolds run the 72 intake with a holly 600 i wanted to run a single electronic dist what vaccum lines do i have to keep
3 on the inside under center dash pane there was a plastic connection that had about 6 hoses vacum to it its disinagrated i have no idea what goes where 1 is red the others are black with no markings vacum lines does anyone know where i can get the schematic so i can connect them right

 

i have the original carb and intake on it now along with all the smog stuff my decal for emmisions is 4405730 also the intake i have is a 3614025-1 whas the hole in the center for a choke it was off of 72 dart 340

 

Distributor. Buy a new MSD and be done with it.
Smog lines. Just get headers. You want them anyway. Take off the smog pump and toss it. Reroute your belts.
Intake. Yay. You got a cast iron intake. Sell it and get an Edelbrock Air gap manifold.
Vacuum lines. Plug off the ones you dont need. Route the others to manifold vacuum.
Get an Edelbrock carb while your at it. Install it. Electric choke. Be done with it.

 

i think the 2 coil dist is for retarding or advancing timing for starting. here is a hint. to check the dist coils. get an analog volt meter. set it on the lowest AC volt. put the meter probes into the coil wires. then spin the dist. the meter will move a little, if the coil is good. i have only spun the dist by hand, and reading was small. at higher spin speed it might read higher. you can all so check the coil OHMs. but i forget the numbers.
