Default Transfer Case Fluid Type

Hello,

I am curious what is the correct type of lubricant for Transfer Case of 1984 Dodge PowerRam W-250. The Haynes manual stated gl-5 gear lube 80w-90. However, when I crawled under the truck and looked at the fluid dripped out (at the drain port) has a slight pink tint which made me think of ATF. I slightly remembered I read it somewhere that depend on the transfer case made and mode, some old rigs TC was filled at ATF. Anyways, I absolutely loved the truck. It is a family pass down and it only has 60K miles.

Thanks for your help. Any information is appreciated.

Not sure what Tcase you have, but my '91 has a NP241, which takes ATF
