1984 dodge ram prospector
hello ive recently bought a dodge ram prospector, I was curious to know what makes it different from the rest. so far I have begun doing a tune up on it. the truck has 3.23 gears in the front and rear axles. I am currently thinking about putting front and rear axles on the truck that have 3.93's.
the guy at the junk yard says they are 3.93 im not too sure what dodge made back then but everything should bolt up the same from what I understand. Is this a good move. oh the truck sits with a 6in leaf spring life 35x12.5x15 tires. I plan on doing some offroading and highway cruising. would tha gear ratio be a good choice?

That will depend on what tansmission you have, and what RPM's you are comfortable running at.
35's with a 3 speed auto, and 4:10's are what you want, you can go offroad ok, and will turn around 2900 to 3000 rpms at 70 mph.
If you have an overdrive, then you can go deeper, to 4:56's or even 4:88's.
Deeper your gears (higher numerically) the better crawl speed you will have, but the higher your RPM's will run at road speeds.
