1989 Power Ram w150 transmission
I have a 1989 power ram w150 with a 4 speed automatic in it. I want to convert it to a manual, but I don't know what transmission would fit and have 4x4. I have a np435 transmission that I was going to put in it, but it's 4x2 not 4x4. Does anyone know a good transmission that would be good? It has a 360 in it, but it originally came with a 318 and when I bought it, it already had the 360 in it. I would like to put either a 4 speed manual or 5 speed manual in it.
Also, when I put it into gear and give it gas it won't move, I have made sure that it has the proper amount of ATF in it. When I put it into gear, it doesn't feel like it engages. I have already made sure it was in 2H and have even tried 4H but it still doesn't move.

You need an NP-435 with the transfer case. The clutch is hydraulic. You will need a bell housing flywheel and clutch of course. Also need to fabricate a clutch reservoir because the originals are not available anymore. Also the clutch pedal assy, master cylinder and slave cylinder that is mounted to the bell housing. Is your trucks floor a high hump or a low hump? The 2 wheel drive automatics used the low hump while the 4X4's and the 2 wheel drive with the NP435 used the high hump floor. Best bet is to find another truck on Craigslist to use for a donor truck. That way you get everything.
