Default Buying a 1st gen Dodge Ram, got some ?'s

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, and My father and I have decided to buy (well, I'll be doing the buying) an older dodge ram. For me, I'm looking for one capable of a good daily driver, as I would like to get rid of jeep grand cherokee to avoid paying for 2 trucks, and we also want to use it for when we go hunting in the fall, and hopefully for towing our boat. Before buying one, what do I need to know about these rigs? What should I watch for especially, asides from the typical used car points? I've heard of a few common issues, but I figured this forum would be the best place to find out all the issues. The other questions I have are since I'm thinking Daily Driver here, should I stick with the 318 as far as gas mileage is concerned, or does the 360 get around the same, since theres obviously a power difference. Right now I have my eye on quite a few ram 150's almost all with 318s, but most only have 2wd, is 2wd going to be just as capable when it comes to hunting in the woods? I mean it's not going to be a hardcore mud bogger, but I will probably run through some muddy areas in it's lifetime, and I'm not a fan of being towed out. So I guess I'm looking for all the advice you guys have to offer, on this topic, I consider you to be the experts here, and I need some educatin'! Thanks for the help in advance!

Right now these just happen to be three different rams/ramchargers I'm looking into at the moment, my favorite so far being the primer black 86 ram, have already gone to see it. What do you guys think?

Personaly, I like the white one. It's 4wd, usefull lift, looks good. The dodge 318, if not abused, is a fairly bulletproof engine. Eighties/ early nineties Dodges tend to have electrical issues, so check the funtion of all equipment. Also check floorboard areas for rust, as older Dodges didn't have good rustproofing. (That may have been addressed on eighties models, though) Of course, it also depends what you're using it for. If you want to hual stuff, get a pickup.

Ive heard that the 318 will get pretty good gas milage (at least 20 and more on highway) but ive also heard the 360 gets bad gas milage with like 13 or 14 in town and mabey 18 on the highway

So you guys think the ramcharger is the better buy? There's also quite a few ramchargers for sale around too, that one I just threw in there because I liked the looks of it. I prefer having a pickup, but from what I've seen you've got nearly just as much room in the bed of ramcharger as that of a regular ram.

Id like to get my hands on a Ram Charger, we used to have a red and white one from 87 in the early 2000s that had the bergunde interior with a 318 under the hood
unfortunatly we dont see to many around here but the ones we do see are still in pretty good shape
