well your in the same boat i was. Thats the only thing I havent changed on my ram. I finally said heck with it. Im buying a 12 valve cummins.. anyway If you want to try the computer, let me know what happens. Are you sure the wires are all ok?

Where are you??

I have one off a 1990 you can try if you wish. Has only the 60 pin connector like this:

It came off a running 1990 D150 - 318.

Have you checked that Hall's effect gizmo in the dist?
If it just quits out of the blue, then starts and runs OK for a while, that could be the culprit

The bottom line is.....I'd like to trade that SBEC for a SMEC (88/89) like this one with both connectors:
